After becoming a travel agent, you can further improve your reputation within the field by becoming a Certified Travel Counselor. You should pursue this after becoming a travel agent and working in the field for a period of time, as the experience you have gained will help improve your chances of successfully becoming certified.

You should also check with Department of Commerce in your area when interested in becoming a travel agent. By checking with the Department of Commerce, you can learn more about any type of registration or certification requirements that the state has established for those interested in becoming a travel agent.
