If you pursue one of these careers in hospitality management, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the property. Depending upon the size of the property, you might share duties with more than one hotel manager and all of you will serve the general manager. Or, the hotel might have just one hotel manager to directly serve the general manager and one or more assistant manager may be in place.
Other careers in hospitality management may be broken down according to various departments. For example, you might manage a certain aspect of the hotel while still being responsible to the general manager and perhaps to the hotel manager as well.
