If you love to fly, then working as a helicopter pilot is an excellent career choice. As a helicopter pilot, you can find employment in some of the most beautiful parts of the world, where you will get to fly high in the skies and look down at all of the beauty that the world has to offer.
After you train to become a helicopter pilot, you can fly a helicopter for your own pleasure. Or, you can become employed as a helicopter pilot or start your own business as a helicopter pilot. In fact, there are a number of positions you can pursue as a helicopter pilot.
One type of career you can pursue as a helicopter pilot is that of a search and rescue team member. The skills of a helicopter pilot are often needed on search and rescue missions, particularly in areas around National Parks and other areas where people enjoy hiking and spending time in the wilderness. As a helicopter pilot, you might be able to help locate lost hikers and bring them to safety.
As a search and rescue helicopter pilot, you might also help to rescue people that are stranded at sea. Since a helicopter pilot can fly close to the waters and since they generally use less fuel, they are a more efficient choice for this type of search and rescue mission.
If having the life of someone else depend upon you is more than you can handle, or if you simply want to spend every day looking at the world’s treasures, you might also want to consider providing scenic tours after you become a helicopter pilot. As a trained helicopter pilot, you might be able to get a job working for an established company that provides these scenic flights. Or, you can select a wilderness area where these types of tours might be popular and you can start your own scenic tour business.
