If you land a career in sports event hospitality management with a venue where a professional team plays, you will obviously have to take care of these events. During the off-season, however, your job might also involve bringing in other business to the venue.
A career in sports event hospitality management involves more than just sitting around and watching sports. Rather, you are responsible for making sure the premises are properly maintained so the athletes and the spectators have a positive experience while at your venue. Furthermore, you need to make sure the facilities are properly maintained and that health and safety codes are properly followed.
Since thousands of people may attend a sporting event at one time, a career in sports event hospitality management requires taking on quite a bit of responsibility. With the events that took place on 9/11, health and safety issues are an even greater concern than ever before. Therefore, when you pursue a career in sports event hospitality management, you must be able to keep all of these people safe while still helping them have a great experience.
